Spring 2013 Anime

Though it's already nearly summer 2013 anime season coming up, but the current season spring 2013 leaving me some impression that beyond my expectation. The first I thought this current season will be dominated with mecha like anime like Majestic Prince, Gargantia, Valvrave the Liberator or common school life comedy anime. But my thought getting crumbled with the release of the Devil Survivor 2 by Atlus, moreover the release of Shingeki no Kyojin. So in this post I will go with 3 of them that I like most in this season: 

1) Shingeki no Kyojin

In my opinion this is the best anime that released in this season, actually it's been a while since I see this kind of anime. The trajectory of the story is really can't be predicted, even I got confused which one is the main character when I see so many dying-people scene out there. Shingeki no Kyojin itself having full content of violence and blood-spoiled scene, but actually that is what making good of this anime. It's all about survival of human race from invasion of Titan, but its not just stop on those point. Because there is another plot of conflict in the human side it's self. If you're watching Mobile Suit Gundam 00 1st Season actually the concept is not just as simply like Celestial Being's mission which can be said that "human race will stop fighting amongst themselves and united when face a stronger enemy". Those idealism is crumble in this anime, even the human facing a stronger enemy they still having conflict amongst themselves. Human itself can't even win against Titan, then being pushed back and can only live behind the protection of the wall which making human life like living livestock. Shingeki no Kyojin offer the real desperate and harsh reality of human life, there is no super weapon, giant mecha, destructive magic, summoning application etc. Human struggle with nothing more except their own power, knowledge and number, moreover their territory gradually getting smaller and smaller by advanced invasion of Titan.



2) Devil Survior 2

Another Atlus games getting animated after Persona 4. Compared with it's predecessor Persona 4, the story in this is totally different. Devil Survivor 2 taking plot human survival against massive attack of septentrion, an unknown being that having a mission to bring annihilation of human and bring total destruction to the current world. In the other hand humanity having total 7 days to survive against those ridiculous attack moreover it's impossible to survive without killing septentrion, so there is no other option left for human, except by annihilating all the septentrion. For demon summoning method Devil Survivor 2 using cellphone application as medium, but in the other way this kind summoning having bad side effect, especially when the summoner dies. When the summoner dies and leaving idle the demon summoning application will continuously spawning demon, leaving a portal gate-like for demon to reach human world. There is no other way to stop this portal except by destroying the phone and this make the world turn into chaos with the report of demon spawning everywhere.

3) Valvrave the Liberator

Another mecha produced by Sunrise, Valvrave story taking a place on a neutral colony called JIOR. JIOR taking a neutral position in the fight between two faction: ARUS and Dorssia. The story began from the invasion of Dorssian army to the JIOR colony, bringing situation into chaos and panic on those peaceful colony. JIOR is defenseless again the attack, but actually there is some special unit that JIOR secretly developed within module 77. This unit later known as Valvrave and it has ability beyond the common unit that ARUS and Dorssia developed. In my opinion is just like gundam stealing story on the Gundam Seed or Gundam Seed Destiny series, but it's now taking place on the ORB instead of earth alliance and ZAFT.
