Gundam Seed - Review

Prologue

Gundam Seed is one of Gundam animation TV series that originally from Japan, as I know this series released before Gundam 00 series. Gundam Seed it self divided into two series / season, its Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny.

Story

• Gundam Seed story begin from a condition where human race had divided into 2-majority group, they are Natural and Coordinator. Natural is human that originally born without gen modification, in other side Coordinator is a human that been born after having gen modification process. This two groups keep deny one another existence, Natural claiming that human should remain on what it should be. In other side Coordinator claims that human should evolve into advance generation with the power of technology. Then a great war begins between these two groups of human race, especially when Natural attacking one Colony of Coordinator in the space with Nuclear weapon. Later Coordinator taking counter measure with attacking Earth with some advanced technology jamming weapon that make Radio signal become unstable in the Earth.
• A few years later after that incident, the tense between these two groups has been reduced. Natural who mainly reside at the Earth become in disadvantage condition due to jamming effect on radio signal, then they decided to create underground project and create 5 powerful mobile suits that being called Gundam at Heliopolis (a colony at space). This 5 Gundam is Aegis, Blitz, Duel, Buster and Strike that supported with Phase Shift armor technology. But somehow this information leaked into Coordinator, then they begin an operation to steal this 5 Gundam. Later when these operations take a place, Kira was still around this operation area. But somehow after some of incident he dragged into this complicated war thing and end up in piloting Strike Gundam to keep survive from this operation. After other 4 Gundam has successfully stolen by ZAFT (Coordinator army unit), they stopped their operation and retreating. Later after this incident Kira Yamato who the only one can piloting Strike Gundam decide to support Archangel (A new development of space warship of Natural) while protecting his friends.

5 Starter Gundam List

• GAT-X102 Duel - Equipped with mobile suit standard equipment (1 beam rifle, 1 beam saber and 1 shield).
• GAT-X103 Buster - Specialized at shooting weapon, equipped with 2 main rifles. Also this 2 rifle can be merged into one powerful beam weapon.
• GAT-X105 Strike - The most customable type of Gundam mobile suit at Gundam Seed series, it had three modes that based from equipment.
• GAT-X207 Blitz - Specialized at infiltrating equipment called Mirage Colloid, nearly invisible and can't detected on radar. But lose it Phase Shift Armor ability while at the stealth mode.
• GAT-X303 Aegis - Typical Gundam that can turn from mobile suit into mobile armor and vice versa. Had selective equipment from beam saber to main cannon at its body.

Note: Base of its equipment Strike divided into 3 Main mode,

1. GAT-X105(AQM/E-X01) Aile Strike - Strike equipment for battle at air or space, excel at had high mobility.
2. GAT-X105(AQM/E-X02) Sword Strike - Strike equipment for melee combat, equipped with 2 a beam swords.
3. GAT-X105(AQM/E-X03) Launcher Strike - The most powerful and destructive equipment for Strike, had 1 powerful beam cannon.

Character List

Archangel
Kira Yamato
Main character of gundam seed, his life completely changed right after he board on Strike Gundam. He decided to fight and protect his entire friend by joining Archangel as GAT-X105 Strike pilot although he is considered as Coordinator.
Flay Allster
One of Kira’s friend, she is a Natural. Because of her parent killed by Coordinator she become hate coordinator so much. Later she knows that Kira like her, and she decide to use Kira as tool to avenge the death of her parent.
Murrue Ramius
The one who had highest authorization at Archangel, although she is not typical leader person but because of her rank she end up in becoming the commander at Archangel.
Mu La Flaga
An excel mobile armor type fighter, when at the space he use Moebius Zero and later he use Skygrasper after Archangel reach earth atmosphere area.
Natarlie Badgiruel
Vice commander at Archangel, at first personally I think she is more capable as commander than Ramius. But because of her trait that strict and always take any order from higher rank made her end up in take command of Dominion and later had a fight with Archangel.
Toelle Koenig
A friend of Kira, he decided to fight and support Archangel as Skygrasper pilot. But later, he end up killed by Athrun with Aegis.

ZAFT
Athrun Zala
An old friend of Kira, he joined with Le Creuset’s team in Heliopolis operation and successfully stole GAT-X303 Aegis. While on mission of chasing Archangel he tried as much as he can to persuade Kira to stop fighting each other, but later they just try to kill each other in real battle.
Nicol Amalfi
Pilot of GAT-X207 Blitz, he is one of Athrun’s close friend ZAFT. He is not only a good at piloting mobile suit but also a talented pianist, he unintentionally killed by Kira’s Sword Strike in battle (At comic version, as far as I can remembered he killed by Kira while protecting Athrun).
Dearka Elsman
Yzak close friend, he is piloting GAT-X103 Buster. Compared with Yzak, his personality is very crossing each other. But in the actual battle they are very compatible and Dearka also a person who can handle Yzak’s stubborn traits.
Yzak Joule
One of typical stubborn and reckless mobile suit pilot, he is also a member of Le Creuset’s team and usually teaming up with Dearka. After successfully stole one of Gundam, later he became pilot of GAT-X102 Duel and continuously keep his stubbornness to try beating up Strike.
Andrew Waltfeld
One of famous ZAFT commander on Earth and also knows as “The Desert Tiger”. He is become one tough enemy for Kira on battle at the desert. He is piloting dessert mobile armor type called BuCUE.
Rau Le Creuset
A ZAFT commander who is responsible in Heliopolis operation, after that operation he made a team to chase and retrieving both Archangel and Strike that successfully escaped from Heliopolis.

ORB
Cagalli Yula Athha
Princess of ORB, after Heliopolis operation she disguised herself just like a rebellion army. Later she boarded Archangel and gives battle support power. Although she is not very skillful at piloting but she manage to survive from many dangerous battle.

Other
Lacus Clyne
The most popular singer around colony, she is also a fiancé of Athrun. Lacus is the one who take care Kira after have a tough battle with Athrun, she also the one who responsible of handed over ZGMF-X10A Freedom to Kira.
